Paula Anderson has a bachelor's degree in English from LeMoyne-Owen College.
She is pursuing a master's degree at the University of Memphis. Paula has a passion for teaching, writing and planning.
In 2018, she was the co-chair of the LeMoyne-Owen College 2018 Alumni Reunion Weekend. She worked with class chairs from 1958, 1968 and 1993 to coordinate the 60th, 50th and 25th anniversaries. In addition to the planning, she and Reynolde "Rey" Jordan II, worked to create the official Alumni website. Paula wrote all of the content for the site and manages the updates.
Previously, she served as the Public Relations Chairperson along with Thomas Randle and Mrs. Yvonne B. Acey. In this role, she and her team developed goals and objectives for the Association to implement during the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
They also worked with the MLK Prayer Breakfast committee to promote the annual fundraiser that recognizes the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 2016 Holiday Meet and Greet was another event.
Paula wrote all communication messages placed on social and traditional media outlets and created a communications calendar for the event.
During the 2017-2018 academic year, she was a graduate assistant at the University of Memphis. In this role, she was responsible for developing a newsletter for the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP).
She interviewed students, alumni and worked with faculty members to create content. She also took photos and wrote content for the website.
Paula is a fellow for the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Memphis. Her quarterly magazine, Memphis Small Business Quarterly (MSBQ), was birthed at the Crews Center.
